How to File a Consumer Complaint Online

Steps to register a grievance against defective products or deficient services.

Step 1: Use the National Consumer Helpline

First, register your grievance on the NCH portal (consumerhelpline.gov.in) or call 1915.

Step 2: Wait for Resolution

The NCH will forward your complaint to the company for a resolution. Most companies resolve issues at this stage.

Step 3: Go to e-Daakhil

If unresolved, visit edaakhil.nic.in to file a formal case in the Consumer Commission.

Step 4: Register & Draft Complaint

Create an account, select the correct District/State commission based on jurisdiction and claim amount, and draft your complaint.

Step 5: Upload Evidence

Upload all bills, warranties, and communication with the seller as proof.

Step 6: Pay Fee

Pay the nominal fee online (often zero for claims up to ₹5 Lakh).
